Ball Banter September 4, 2014 Story of the Week 1 Comment Could Ronaldinho be on his way to Basingstoke Town? Wow. Now here is a story that wasn’t expected. Basingstoke Town have made a shock offer to bring Ronaldinho to their club and play in the Conference South. They have contacted his agent, Roberto De Assis (who is also his brother), with the offer and are now waiting for them to make a decision. Ronaldinho left Brazilian team Atletico Mineiro this summer and is now a free agent. Basingstoke’s marketing director, Simon Hood, said: Discussions have been had, and there is an offer on the table. Now it is up to Ronaldinho to decide whether he wants to take us up on it. He is on a free transfer and if he wants to get into English football, I cannot think of a better way to do that than by signing for Basingstoke Town. I don’t know about you, but I would love to see this happen!
